"This Blue Capsule Provides Enhanced Antioxidant Support*"

Antioxidants are like superheroes for our bodies. These important molecules help you maintain optimal health by helping to   fight off free radicals (the bad “villains”).*

Most of us get antioxidants from the foods we eat… like green tea, fruits, and vegetables; however, many people do not get the recommended amount of these foods in their diet.

One way to help ensure you get the optimal amounts of antioxidants is to take a high-quality supplement that supplies many different kinds of these powerful nutrientsso you get what your body requires.

What Makes Antioxidants So Effective?

As mentioned, antioxidants’ main claim to fame is their ability to fight potentially harmful free radicals.* Free radicals are a normal biological response to stress or certain environmental triggers, like cigarette smoke. Free radicals are also produced when you exercise.

Antioxidants help protect your cells from free radical damage.

The problem with free radicals is that they can become rampant and cause your cells to perform poorly, damaging your DNA and cell structures. When you have an excess of free radicals, it can also lead to tissue degradation, putting you at risk for potential disease and becoming dangerous for your health.

Antioxidants, therefore, are nature’s way of providing your cells with adequate defense against free radical damage. If you don't have an adequate supply of antioxidants to help squelch free radicals, then you can be at risk for oxidative stress – the state in which free radicals in your body outnumber your antioxidant defenses.

It is fair to say then, that when you have a balanced supply of antioxidants, you are more likely to be healthier, with a stronger immune system, and in optimal health.* So what kind of antioxidants do you need?

Water-Soluble vs. Lipid-Soluble Antioxidants

In order to fight harmful free radicals, your body needs BOTH types of antioxidants – lipid- and water-soluble – since each one targets different types of cells and tissues for free radical scavenging.

Water-soluble antioxidants are present in aqueous fluids, like blood and intracellular and extracellular fluids. They react with oxidants in the cell cytosol (fluid portion of cytoplasm) and the blood plasma.

Lipid-soluble antioxidants, in contrast, are localized to cellular membranes and lipoproteins. They protect cell membranes from lipid peroxidation.*

When both water-soluble and lipid-soluble antioxidants are taken together, the efficacy is enhanced.
If you aren’t getting enough of both types of antioxidants in your diet, you should take top-quality antioxidant supplements to ensure you get enough.

There are actually two types of antioxidants – lipid-soluble and water-soluble (also known as fat soluble). In order to effectively fight free radicals, your body needs both types.

Lipid- or fat-soluble antioxidants protect cell membranes from lipid peroxidation.* Some examples of lipid-soluble antioxidants include vitamins E, A, beta-carotene, and my personal favorite, astaxanthin.
In contrast, water-soluble antioxidants are present in aqueous fluids, like blood and intracellular and extracellular fluids. Examples of water-soluble antioxidants include vitamin C, glutathione, and catechins, including those found in my new Catechins supplement.

A Solution to Supplement Our Diets and Help EnsureYou Get Ample Antioxidants

I realize that many people – although they would like to – do not end up getting enough healthy foods into their diets each day. Which is why I formulated a high-quality antioxidant supplement that you can trust to give you exactly what you require for your healthy lifestyle.

My Catechins formula provides a top-quality blend of naturally-occurring antioxidants from well-known superfoods – delivering a broad spectrum of active compounds: catechins, polyphenols, phycocyanins, and anthocyanins.

Although many green tea extracts exist for antioxidant support, my Catechins formula is unique since it has quality antioxidants from many premium sources. My formula is a special blend of blueberry, black currant, and green tea extracts providing 65 mg catechins and 80 mg polyphenols!

What I Believe Makes This Supplement Better Than Other Green Tea Extracts

First off, I believe my antioxidant formula has the perfect amounts of each ingredient – to ensure you only get exactly what you need, unlike other brands. Plus, I use only top-quality sources.

The blend is also non-GMO and gluten-free. And unlike supplements with only one type of antioxidant, my unique Catechins contains the following highly beneficial ingredients:

Green Tea Extract

With my Catechins formula, you get the antioxidant benefits of one cup of good quality green tea.

The green tea extract in my formula has catechins such as EGCG, a powerful and potent antioxidant,* equivalent to one cup of good quality green tea. The tea is decaffeinated using an ethanol water extract and there are no salt residues in the final product. That way, you don’t have to deal with side effects from caffeine and you can still get the benefits from the catechins.

One good point to keep in mind is that it’s important to pick a high-quality product you can trust. In our formula, we carefully monitor and select the optimal amount of polyphenols and catechins for maximum benefit. As mentioned earlier with green tea, too much green tea extract has also been associated with liver damage at high levels of use, so it’s important to monitor the amount.

Among other benefits, green tea has been shown to support heart health starting at only 1 cup per day – exactly the amount you get in my supplement.*

Phycocyanin Extract

Much different than popular green tea, another powerful antioxidant comes from a much less utilized source: blue-green algae, or more specifically spirulina. The algae gets its natural bluish tint from the vibrant phytopigment, phycocyanin – an antioxidant that is ONLY found in spirulina.

Studies show that phycocyanin may support your brain and heart health, help protect against oxidative stress, and support a healthy immune system.*

My catechins formula contains 50 mg of phycocyanin-rich spirulina extract – giving it its distinctive blue color. This ingredient adds hepato and nephron-protective antioxidants to the formula.*

My Catechins formula includes black currant and blueberry extracts high in powerful antioxidants, anthocyanins.

Mixed Berry Extract

My Catechins formula also includes New Zealand black currant and Canadian blueberry extracts high in anthocyanins.

Numerous studies show that anthocyanins contain a wide-range of health-supporting properties.*

As is the problem with all of the nutrients we need in our diets, however, sometimes it can be hard to get enough.

According to one study, in 2009, only 32.5% of US adults ate fruit two or more times per day, meaning that most people are not regularly getting the anthocyanin benefits from fresh berries in their diet.

Vitamin C – For Extra Absorption

Plus, my Catechins supplement contains 30mg of vitamin C, which helps to maintain the level of catechins in the product so you receive the full benefits.*

Catechins can be unstable in the intestines, so in other products, the full amount of catechins may not remain after digestion. However, studies have shown that adding ascorbic acid to the formula helps to stabilize the catechins, so you’re better able to utilize the catechins.

Having vitamin C in a catechins supplement is an absolute must.

Why I Believe That the Dosage in My Catechins Formula Is Perfect

You wouldn’t drink two or three cups of green tea at once – so you shouldn’t have a high dose of its beneficial constituents at once either.

A 2003 study shows that it’s actually better to have a lower dose of antioxidants (50mg to 100mg), than a higher dose. Since catechins are water-soluble antioxidants, it’s wasteful to take a larger dose since anything beyond what your body needs will be flushed out of your system.

And since we learned about different types of antioxidants earlier, the dosage in this formula is also perfect because it ensures you get the necessary water-soluble antioxidants that you need in your diet each day – so you don’t have to worry about being deficient.
